Insurance and Warranty Repairs

We carry out insurance claim repairs and manufacturer warranty work on caravans, campers, fifth wheelers and motorhomes at our Toowoomba workshop. We're an approved warranty agent for a number of caravan manufacturers and component brands, and we work directly with insurers on claim repairs — preparing quotes, supplying photographs and documentation, and liaising with assessors.

Because most vans are built in modular sections, damaged sections can often be replaced individually rather than requiring a full rebuild. That usually means a shorter repair and a lower claim value. Workmanship on our repairs is covered by a lifetime guarantee.

Warranty repairs

We're an authorised warranty agent for:

Caravan manufacturers: Coromal · Avan · Regal · Windsor · Retreat · Jayco

Component brands: Camec · Coast to Coast · Aussie Traveller RV · Dometic

If your van is under manufacturer warranty, we can carry out the work and deal with the manufacturer directly. Common warranty jobs include:

  • First service and 1,000km checks
  • Hot water system warranties (Suburban, Truma)
  • Stove and air conditioner warranties
  • Awning repairs
  • 12V, 240V, accessory and ESC fault diagnosis
  • Furniture and cupboard installation
  • Leaking windows, doors and skylights
  • Plumbing leaks
  • Axle alignment
  • Brake adjustment

Insurance repairs

We handle insurance claim work of all sizes, from a single damaged panel through to major structural repairs. This includes:

  • Accident and towing damage
  • Hail and storm damage
  • Water ingress and leak damage
  • Impact and awning damage
  • Internal damage

You're generally entitled to choose your own repairer. If you'd like us to carry out the work, nominate MAKS Caravan Centre when you lodge your claim.

The claim process

  1. Contact MAKS for an inspection. Call or use the form below to arrange a time.
  2. Contact your insurer to lodge your claim. Obtain a claim number and select MAKS as your repair agent.
  3. Bring your van in for quotation. We assess the damage, discuss the repair approach with you, and prepare a quote with photographs for your insurer.
  4. We submit the quote to your insurer. Depending on the extent of the damage, your insurer may review our documentation or arrange their own inspection.
  5. Your insurer approves the claim.
  6. Tell us about any additional work. While the van is with us is a good time to have other work done — we'll quote it separately from the claim.
  7. We schedule and complete the repairs. Our workshop manager inspects all repairs and seals before the van is signed off.
  8. You collect your van.
